Gerard Clarke is a Trinidad-born writer and director. Clarke began his filmmaking journey with independently produced and distributed documentary projects, like the 2019 docuseries, Respect the Light. An industry outsider, he eventually worked his way out of a lucrative sales career and into a producer role on docuseries within the studio system. After learning a great deal from his experience in the documentary space he's now turned his efforts to migrating to scripted filmmaking. Passionate about broadening the portrayals available of characters like him, Gerard's stories tend to focus on thoughtful and passionate characters, whether via documentary or narrative.
